Is The Facebook and Twitter Update Killing Xbox Live? This is a featured page

If you have recently tried to access Xbox Live, you will get the following error message:

“Some Xbox LIVE content is temporarily unavailable. You can still access your profile, communicate with other players, and play games online.
The content will automatically appear when it’s available.
Status Code: 8007274c”

No proper confirmation but we assume this problem is being caused by the recent Xbox Live update which included Twitter and Facebook integration, Last.fm, Zune, and news / video channels. Read the rest of this entry »

A Concise History of Batman in Video Games

August 26th, 2009 | 1 Comment »

So, yesterday I gave a review on the newest Batman game – Batman: Arkham Asylum, calling it “the best digital Batman simulator we’ve seen to date.”. Today, i decided to remind our readers the history of Batman games across the last 23 years… So what do we know about Batman? I’ll tell you what: That Batman is the coolest superhero ever is at this point an undeniable... Read More

Are Wii F*cked?

June 21st, 2009 | 5 Comments »

Gamers sit up and take notice! Do you, as a gamer, want your mom or grandpa to be an audience for game developers? Do you even want to see geriatrics flailing their flabby arms around or doing mock yoga in front of the television? The answer better be no, unless of course you are looking forward to this possible hellish future of console gaming. The runaway success of the Wii is endangering gaming... Read More

27 Ways to Save the Consoles (part 4 – Sony PlayStation2/PSP and Nintendo DS)

June 5th, 2009 | No Comments »

PLAYSTATION 2Where’s the first-party support? We were bummed when Sony’s Jack Tretton told us that all internal development would focus on the PS3 and not the PS2. Given that there are some 100 million PS2s in the wild, that seems like something of a miscalculation. A new SOCOM expansion, a Killzone spinoff, or even a quick-and-easy port of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection could help keep the... Read More

27 Ways to Improve the Consoles(part3 – Wii)

June 4th, 2009 | 2 Comments »

Continued supply issues make us say “hmmm” It’s funny. During the launch of the PS3 and Xbox 360, mainstream reporters from respected pubs like The New York Times frequently asked us we thought Sony and Microsoft were purposefully restricting launch console supplies to create a “false shortage” and jack up interest and sales. We didn’t believe that then, and we don’t... Read More

27 Ways to Improve the Consoles(part2 – XBOX360)

June 2nd, 2009 | 3 Comments »

We continue our research on console improvement! Today, it’s Microsoft’s XBOX360 The D-pad sucks This one hurts. The Xbox 360 controller is a fine device in most ways, but its directional pad is an inaccurate mess. Part of the problem is that Sony and Nintendo own all the best directional pad patents (ever wonder why you always see the same d-pad design on Sony and Nintendo consoles?),... Read More

May 31st, 2009 | 4 Comments »

We’re well into the new generation of game consoles, yet a slew of key flaws go unaddressed. During the next few days we will find out which are the 27 things Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony need to fix immediately. Freezing Sixaxis controllers This is a widespread phenomenon, but it’s been shockingly underreported. The Sixaxis controller connects to the PS3 via a wireless Bluetooth signal;... Read More
