Is The Facebook and Twitter Update Killing Xbox Live? This is a featured page

If you have recently tried to access Xbox Live, you will get the following error message:

“Some Xbox LIVE content is temporarily unavailable. You can still access your profile, communicate with other players, and play games online.
The content will automatically appear when it’s available.
Status Code: 8007274c”

Although it states you can ‘play games online’ a few users have been complaining on popular Xbox forums that some games, including Modern Warfare 2, can not be accessed. The same problem doesn’t seem to apply to all from what we’ve heard so far but it’s still causing problems for some.

No proper confirmation but we assume this problem is being caused by the recent Xbox Live update which included Twitter and Facebook integration, Last.fm, Zune, and news / video channels. Read the rest of this entry »

Microsoft Funds PS3 Game Development

September 16th, 2009 | No Comments »

A developer has laid bare the not so shocking truth of just how Namco was paid off by Microsoft to secure an “exclusive” release, but instead merely used the Xbox subsidy to reduce development costs on the PS3 version, which it expected to sell better. However, Sony intervened and Read More SHARETHIS.addEntry({ title: "Microsoft Funds PS3 Game Development", url: "http://www.xbox360rocks.com/games/microsoft-funds-ps3-game-development.html"... Read More

Consumers Will Choose The PS3 Slim Over The Xbox 360

August 24th, 2009 | No Comments »

Normally, I’m not one to make bold statements in the headlines of my articles; as nothing is 100% and much of what I say is often subjective, I’d rather pose a question. In other words, I’d normally title this article, “Will Consumers Consider the PS3 Slim a Better Option than the Xbox 360?” or something to that effect. Gamers sit up and take notice! Do you, as a gamer, want your mom or grandpa to be an audience for game developers? Do you even want to see geriatrics flailing their flabby arms around or doing mock yoga in front of the television? The answer better be no, unless of course you are looking forward to this possible hellish future of console gaming. The runaway success of the Wii is endangering gaming... Read More

May 5th, 2009 | 1 Comment »

Microsoft’s Xbox 360 may have the movie monopoly in the UK, with downloadable content available from Paramount, Universal and Warner, but Sony is inching ahead in the US. Sony has signed a deal with NBC Universal which was the last major studio to allow downloadable content on the PS3. This is a feat that Microsoft will possibly never achieve as the one major studio whose content is missing... Read More
